Professional training: our menu

Three currents, three different training approaches in the world of coffee. An entire day dedicated to training or brief focuses to dissect a specific theme. In other words, an education program able to satisfy anyone who feels like it is time to update or consolidate one’s expertise.

An high-level training offer led by known and accredited brands operating at international level. We are talking about IIAC- International Institute of Coffee Tasters, Umami Area and Università del Caffè illy.

The International Institute of Coffee Tasters (Iiac), founded in 1993 and with branches in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, during its 25 years of history has carried out hundreds of courses, especially dedicated to the acquisition of coffee tasting licenses, which have been attended by operators and coffee lovers from all over the world.

A young and dynamic association, Umami Area, guided by the coffee expert Andrej Godina, will present short training sessions focusing on some of the new trends in the coffee sector, such as micro-roasteries.

Last but not least, the Università del Caffè illy: with branches in Trieste and all over the world, it is a centre of excellence open to entrepreneurs from the coffee sector, professionals in the hospitality industry and all coffee lovers, with the aim of promoting and spreading the culture of high-quality coffee. A specific programme has been prepared for TriestEspresso Expo.

The choice of structuring a high level professional training program is fully coherent with the location the trade fair is taking place in: Trieste is an highly specialized hub, spanning from logistics to coffee bean processing, boasting a 300 years-long history in the coffee sector.
